The project

ADAPTWISE will create 8 climate-resilient communities, specifically targeting flash floods, droughts, and heatwaves. The ADAPTWISE communities will be established at neighborhood or pilot area level, in both urban and peri-urban settings, through collaboration among stakeholders from local authorities, public utilities, SMEs, and civil society.

We will join forces to plan, implement, and manage a series of adaptation measures on both public and private land. These measures will include, among others, widespread installation of water tanks, creation of rain gardens, depaving interventions, planting of resilient vegetation, shared maintenance of ditches and drains, as well as the creation of climate shelters and awareness campaigns.

ADAPTWISE places adaptation at the heart of communities, developing and testing a model that enables Mayors, citizens, and businesses to collaboratively and integrally take care for the climate resilience of the places where we live and work, considering it a common good to be protected through cooperation agreements.
